Shaam ki Chai: A Family Tradition

Shaam ki Chai: A Family Tradition

There’s a time of day in South Asian homes that signals it’s time to pause: shaam ki chai (evening tea).

It usually starts when everyone's home- finally together. And just like that, the pace of the day changes.

Tea swirls in boiling water. Snacks fill the kitchen. Every family has their own way of doing shaam ki chai. It's not fancy, but it’s sacred.

It’s neighbours dropping by without calling first, because “we were just passing and thought of you.” It’s parents catching up on news while kids dunk biscuits into sweet, milky tea. It's birds outside chirping, while the breeze gets cooler and more fragrant.

It’s a ritual that says: no matter how busy the day has been, there’s still time to come together.

Did you know?

Bergamot, one of the bright top notes in our Shaam ki Chai candle, has been shown in scientific studies to help reduce anxiety and lift mood.

At Safr, Shaam ki Chai is our way of bringing that feeling into your space. So even if you’re miles away from where you grew up, you can still carry a piece of home, the simple traditions, with you.

Sometimes, it's just about preserving memories- those sacred family traditions you never stop holding close to your heart.
